A superb ink stick / ink cake set of the Ten Views of Westlake the reverse of each being a poem praising the particular sight.
When purchased this set was described as being produced during the Guangxu Period (1875-1908).
The calligraphy on the side of the ink sticks reads "Cheng Junfang Ink"
"Ink made by Cheng Junfang during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty in China (1573-1620). Cheng was a famous ink maker in the Ming Dynasty. He was from Shexian County, Anhui Province. He was as famous as Fang Yulu, an ink maker at the time, and was known as "Equation".

Formerly the property of a Japanese collector.
Condition : Very Good. there are a few minor chips from age and handling to a couple of the ink stinks, indicated in the images. There is rubbing from age and storage to the gold calligraphy.
