GENUINE AFRICAN ELEPHANT IVORY
An excellent African elephant ivory primitive art carving of a native woman.
The International Trade in Ivory was banned by CITES in 1989.
The Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora is an international agreement between governments. Its aim is to ensure that international trade in specimens of wild animals and plants does not threaten the survival of the species.
This carving was acquired in Kenya, mid 1960's. (over 60 years old), carved in the Congo.
