Japanese Pipe Holder Kiseruzutsu Sashi & Woven Tonkotsu

LATE EDO TO EARLY MEIJI (1864 - 1895)

A superb tonkotsu made from split cane finely woven then lacquered to strengthen and waterproof. An excellent example of this fine weaving art.
Black coral ojime, an outstanding staghorn sashi netsuke bearing an excellent aged patina.
The sashi signed : Josan Tokai Ringyu
