Ivory Netsuke Monkey in chestnut

ANTIQUE JAPANESE NETSUKE

A superb ivory study of a monkey emerging from a chestnut, two large leaves on the outside.
This netsuke model originally in wood by Toyomasa of Tamba appears to have been replicated by other carvers in wood.
This is an extremely rare example in ivory.
